There is a big debate regarding the weight loss hypnosis method to lose the extra pounds that some want to lose. The advertisers selling weight loss hypnosis methods all tell you that it's the ultimate natural way of losing weight. Others say its bobbycock and that it could actually cause dangerous mental issues if done improperly.

How does weight loss hypnosis work?

Weight loss hypnosis works like any other kind of hypnosis. The practitioner simply guides the 'patient' into a state of heavy relaxation and implants the ideas of what this person should do to help them lose weight. Fortunately many hypnotists also admit that it cannot work solely and must be used in conjunction with healthy eating and exercise.

The advertiser's biggest claim then is that they are merely helping to motivate people, via hypnosis, to make the lifestyle changes they already have to make in order to achieve successful weight loss.

The most common items in this market are CD's that you can buy and listen to. By listening to them you'll have subliminal messages sent to your subconscious. The advertisers of systems such as this fail to tell you, or do so in the very fine print, that this will only be helpful if you also are using other weight loss methods.

Other ways method is employed is via one-on-one or group hypnosis sessions. In one-on-one sessions the hypnotist hypnotizes one person and implants the weight loss suggestions into this persons mind once he or she has been successfully hypnotized.

In relation, group sessions are very much the same as one-on-one with the exception that the hypnotist is often on a stage and performing this on an entire group of people at the same time. Group weight loss hypnosis sessions are becoming more and more common as opposed to the one-on-one sessions because it's much cheaper for the individual and much more profitable for the practitioner.

If weight loss hypnosis is something that you're considering, it's advisable to understand that although it may be helpful in motivating you and in helping your mind make the correct decisions, you will still only lose weight if you are eating and living in a healthy manner.
